How To Measure Pants: Rise, Inseam, and Leg Opening

By Skate Warehouse |

If you were ever curious about how to measure pants, then keep reading. Today we're going to go over how to measure pants and explain how those measurements are listed in the descriptions of our website.

Measuring Rise

First, we are going to start with the rise measurement. If you ever see the rise listed, it's referring to the measurement between the waistline and the crotch of the pant.

Measuring Inseam

If you see an inseam measurement, it's referring to the measurement between the crotch and the bottom of the pant. To get the inseam measurement, you want to start at the seam of the crotch. You're going to go along the inseam of the pant all the way down to the ankle.

Measuring Leg Opening

To get a leg opening measurement, you will want to measure straight across the opening closest to your feet then multiply it by 2. So if you measure 8 inches, you will want to multiply that by 2 for a 16-inch wide leg opening.

Other Measurments to Keep in Mind

Keep in mind that the waist will always be listed in inches. So if you wear a 32, you're going to want to add a 32-inch waist to your cart. If you ever see a measurement that looks like 32 by 32 or 32 x 32, the first measurement describes the waist in inches, and the second measurement lists the inseam in inches.
