Rob Roskopp

Few graphics are more synonymous with skateboarding than the Roskopp Face, and few skaters are more synonymous with Santa Cruz Skateboards than Rob Roskopp. Born on April 8, 1963, in Detroit MI, Roskopp started skating at a young age, quickly making a name for himself. He turned pro in 1983, joining forces with Santa Cruz Skateboards and Independent Trucks, and quickly became one of the most popular names in skating during the 80s. His "Roskopp Face" Santa Cruz graphics, illustrated by Jim Phillips, became one of the most iconic graphics of the 80's and remains a staple classic among skaters. Transitioning from his skating, Roskopp co-founded Santa Cruz Bicycles in 1993, venturing into the mountain biking world. Under his leadership, Santa Cruz Bicycles became a pioneering brand, renowned for its innovative designs and advanced suspension technology. Roskopp's influence spans both sports, cementing him as a significant figure in the history, culture, and industry innovation both skating and mountain biking.
