FantasticSo this is long-winded, But I’ve given this a lot of thought… Most Real, Krooked, and Anti Hero boards (regardless of wheelbase) have a remarkably similar pocket width. Ie: The parts of the board you feel in a disaster right before dropping on in. In the past three years I’ve loved the Ishod/Worrest twin board because a slick bottom helps lots for ledges and flatbars to know: Oh it’ll go, no wax today. But, but! the pocket width for that press is about .4 of an inch wider. You can see it when you line the boards up. So in that critical moment on disasters, I feel my legs are uncomfortably farther apart. And on nollie heels for instance I feel like I’m airballing because I can’t quite enact the corner of the tail comfortably (my legs are too short). Since the lovely 8.3 twin has a 14.4 wheelbase, and this board has a 14.0, there’s the fix. In addition to the shorter drilled wheelbase, the pockets are moved closer to the middle by the same amount. The trucks and therefore axles are in a proportional spot. Feebles and smiths and crookeds now pinch very similarly too. If you’re about 5’7” to 5’10” this board works great with thunders and ventures. If you’re taller, then that 8.3 twin is magical. If shorter, strongly consider those true-fit decks because the pocket width is even narrower. What variety these three companies offer because they too have given this a lot of thought…
