Natas Kaupas

Natas Kaupas is easily one of the most influential skateboarders of all time having been one of the first people to take the technical tricks of freestyle to the streets in the 80's alongside Gonz, Julien Stranger, and Jim Thiebaud. by 1984, he had his own Thrasher cover of a wallride and soon after earned his first pro board from Santa Monica Airlines featuring his classic panther graphic that's still being reissued today. In the years after his pro board, he and Gonz were the first to land boardslides and 50-50's down rails followed by his iconic part in the Santa Cruz video Wheels of Fire where he was able to really show just how far skateboarding had come and how much further it can go with his ability to ollie. This changed the direction of skateboarding and ultimately led us to where we are now.

Along the way, Natas was able to use his earned notoriety by starting 101 Skateboards, help design the first pro model skate shoe ever for himself by Etnies, help with Big Brother, design for Quiksilver and Element, and start Vita Shoes.
