100% Official - The Miles Silvas Interview

If you have had minimal contact with the skate world over the past year, you've heard the name Miles Silvas. A rookie pro that's making a big name for himself with the coverage to prove it, Miles can do everything from tech ledge moves to massive handrail attacks. With LRG's 1947 on the horizon and the three mag covers under his belt this year, Miles has definitely earned himself a Thrasher SOTY consideration in 2015. Thanks to our friends over at Official we were able to ask Miles a few questions about his new signature hats, traveling overseas and the Miles Silvas signature track pants. Check it out!

How's Sacramento treating you these days?

Sacramento is lit! Haha. Nah, its nice though. I've been traveling so much, so when I get home it's nice to enjoy how mellow it is. There's always homies kickin' it, so it's tight.

What's it like designing a hat with Official? How did you get hooked up with them? Are there any plans for tours/ a video?

I got hooked up with Official from skating around with Jeff Landi, their photographer and TM, a bunch.

Everyone at Official are the homies. It doesn't feel like you're working with a huge ass company or anything. So with designing hats I just shoot them ideas that I come up with and they're really good at making them come to life.

I'm not really sure when the next trip is, or what they have in the works. I know whatever it is they have planned, the tour video will be sick.

Between adidas and LRG it seems like you've been going on tons of filming trips recently. What are your skate trip essentials?

Obviously shoes and boards. You gotta make sure your gear's on point. I dunno. Usually with the squads that I travel with everyone already knows each other and the equipment and spots are on point.

Anything sketchy ever go down while you're traveling overseas?

Not really now that I think about it. I've never gone to jail or anything overseas. Actually, this past Easter I went to Cyprus on an LRG trip and on Easter night the citizens there were protesting and trying to blow shit up. Pretty much everyone was just trying to start the biggest fires possible. So we were getting low-key little bombs thrown at us which was kinda sketchy. Haha.

Are you still filming for 1947? Is it still slated for October release? Can we expect a full TX part?

Haha. Hell yeah. There will be a full part from everyone actually. I'm all done filming though.

When are the adidas Skateboarding track pants gonna drop? Maybe a Silvas signature track pant?

Haha. Just wait on it!

Have you skated those Yeezys? How's the boardfeel?

Haha! Not really. I've done a few no-complys but that's about it.

Where can I cop some gold fronts?

Slide through Gold USA on Florin Road here in Sac.

What do you spend your time doing when you're not skating?

Kicking with the PLA Boys, with my girlfriend and family. Just chilling here in Sac really. I haven't had much free time because I've been traveling so much, so when I do have some I just try to post up as much as possible.

What are your thoughts on skate contests such as Street League and the Dew Tour? Would you ever do one?

They're cool. I haven't been talked to about doing one. I'm not the biggest fan of them, but if someone were to ask me to do it I would give it a shot. I'm not totally against them or anything.

Biggie or 2pac?

Biggie.

Stones or Beatles?

Stones.

Last thoughts?

Squad!

Thanks man! We really appreciate it.
