Elissa Steamer
Helping pave the way for women in skateboarding, Elissa Steamer has been skating since 1989 and pro since 1996. She started getting boards from Lance Mountain in 1995 and went pro for Toy Machine in 1996 and filmed parts for 'Welcome To Hell' and 'Jump Off A Building'. In 1998, Steamer left Toy Machine for Bootleg, a sub-division of Baker and had parts in Bootleg 3000, Baker Bootleg, and Baker 2G. After her time with Bootleg came to and end, she rode for Zero until 2011 and had won four X Games medals by that point, setting the bar for all of the women coming up in skateboarding.
Around 2013, Steamer started Gnarhunters as a project with FTC, eventually founding it as a brand that is distributed by Baker Boys Distribution. Around 2018, she was welcomed back to Baker and still rides for them today. With her long history in skateboarding and being arguably the most prominent woman in skateboarding, Elissa Steamer was inducted into the Skateboarding Hall Of Fame in 2015.
